I Broke the Earthquake News to Nepal PM - Modi

Addressing a group of journalists gathered at the training program on parliamentary processes, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has revealed some unknown facts about the recent happenings. He said his tweet was the first source of information on earthquake for Nepal PM Sushil Koirala and described how the Nepal PM has conveyed the same to him over a phone conversation.

Sushil Koirala was on an official visit to Thailand, when the earthquake took place and he learnt about the disaster only with Modi's tweet. Modi cited this example for stressing on the benefits of being connected. Prime Minister also recalled an incident that happened many years back when he was serving as the CM of Gujarat state.

"One night at around 3 AM I got a phone call from a person with whom I had lunch many years ago. He informed be about a loud explosion and suspected it to be a train accident. I was able to send the relief & rescue teams to the spot in just 20 minutes much before the railway officials came to know about the train mishap," recollected Modi.

Modi asked the journalists to work in the interest of country and not for any particulate government. He requested the media to measure the value of news before letting it out and said that most of the country's problems will be solved if the journalists decide to work in nation's interest.
