Lakshmi Manchu Didn't Let Coins Jump

Lakshmi Manchu is on the continuous warning list of dad Mohan Babu who asks her always to control the budgets of her films, as the actress-producer says, 'That's the big mistake I've ever committed with my past two flicks'. But this time she hasn't let a single coin jump out of her pocket unless it's seriously needed.

For Uh Kodatara Ulikki Padatara, Lakshmi never thought about the beauty of scene or the screenplay that is driving it, rather pouring money for best outcome. 'I've never thought about how the scene is script-wise, but pumped in money for grandeur. Though we expected Gundello Godari to make it big in Tamil, it failed there too. I've learnt my lessons', says Lakshmi, whose latest production venture 'Dongata' is getting ready for release.

As she plays a full length glamorous role of a reel-life heroine in this movie, Lakshmi says, 'Dongata gave me 100% satisfaction as producer because we did everything under controlled environment. Not a single penny is wasted otherwise'. What did she understood finally? 'Telugu industry's box office is hero centric. Heroes have market but not heroines. I've got to know this the hard way', she stresses.

Directed by newcomer Vamsi Krishna, 'Dongata' will be hitting cinemas on May 8th worldwide. Watch out for Lakshmi's new work.
